A Day in the Sun – Winner of two Telly Awards for Television Documentary and Cinematography!!
What is this movie about?
York, Pennsylvania has always been a place for artists. From Lewis Miller and Horace Bonham to Jeff Koons and the band, Live, creative individuals seem to spring forth from the rich environs of Pennsylvania’s Susquehanna Valley. This documentary is the story of the city as it strives to be recognized as a homestead for artists.
One thread of the story follows the drama of the 2009 Governor’s Awards for Arts, which selected York as its host city. Due to the budget impasses and crises that plagued the State in the summer of 2009, it was called off. With years of dedication, labor and struggle hanging in the balance, the city wonders if it will ever find recognition – if it will ever see its day in the sun
This dramatic series of events is interwoven with the heartfelt and compelling stories of five artists (of the many), who have in some way discovered York and have found a place to work, live and thrive.

Mr. Plow,
You are to be commended for your inquiry into and magnificent delivery of this very important subject – bringing to life to all of us the art, the struggle, the people and the vision of York. While I feel fortunate to have already seen the film, I can’t wait for the film to make its way to the West Coast!
Bravo!
